A rich, ripe nose of blueberry jam, mulberry, black cherry and pie crust with some floral violet notes and a hint of paprika spice. The palate is dry and full-bodied with intense and concentrated blackberry, blueberry and lots of black pepper and paprika spice. Firm tannins and crisp acidity give structure and there is some complex leather and charred meat on the long finish. Pairs well with slow braised lamb shanks or venison with blackcurrant sauce.
